Before Universitaly / visa
Educational document verification (Pakistan)
Complete this chain before CIMEA / DOV and visa. Keep originals plus enough attested photocopies.
- Step 1
Board attestation (Matric / Intermediate)
Attest original Matric and Intermediate certificates plus mark sheets/transcripts from your relevant education board. Boards usually keep one copy for IBCC. Budget several working days.
- Step 2
IBCC
After board verification, attest the same school documents at IBCC (often inside the board building). Take originals and sealed photocopy sets as required.
- Step 3
University verification (degree holders)
For bachelor/master degrees, verify degree and transcript from your awarding university first (fees and timelines vary).
- Step 4
HEC
Book an HEC appointment for degree/transcript attestation. HEC typically expects Matric and Intermediate already verified. Attest at the Islamabad head office or your regional office.
- Step 5
MOFA / Apostille
Take educational documents (and usually FRC + sponsor tax letters where needed) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a CAMP / liaison office. MOFA now uses QR coding / apostille workflows; postal stamps may no longer be required—follow the challan process at the counter.
- Step 6
Italian translation (authorised only)
Translate only through embassy-listed authorised translators/agencies. Unofficial translations are commonly rejected for DOV and visa.
- Step 7
CIMEA (when the university asks)
Register on the CIMEA Diplome portal. After applying, courier IBCC/HEC-verified photocopies to CIMEA as instructed. Some universities accept DOV instead of (or in addition to) CIMEA—follow your offer letter.
- Step 8
Bank statement
Maintain a strong sponsor/student bank statement for the period required by the consulate (commonly several months). Prefer a clean student/sponsor account history before the visa file.
MOFA Apostille / attestation counter flow
- 1.Fee challan — take originals and copies to the MOFA challan initiator; pay the generated challan.
- 2.Documents review — assistant consular reviews documents against your token and feeds data into the system.
- 3.Documents forward — scans are attached and sent to the competent authority.
- 4.Documents approval — authority verifies the issuing body against official databases.
- 5.Apostille print — system-generated apostille is printed and attached.
- 6.Apostille issue — collect documents from the delivery section with token and paid challan.
